Banff, Canada - 2006

Please be patient, they have a lot of detail. (Page 2 of 4)

No, this is not the station, but one of the old goods sheds.
Banff station is located at the edge of town on "Station Street" - surprise! It is 1383 metres above sea level.
All the timber up here in the mountains is softwood. Hardwood is a rarity.

Guess what I saw?! 2 Snow Plows and 2 Snow Spreaders!

They were just sitting there waiting until the next time they were needed, so I just happened ot traipse on over and take a good look.

These plows are pretty big buggers.
And looking at the rust patterns, they see lots of action.
And there was a lonesome empty gondola sitting in the yard.
The gondola was marked for "Tie Service Only".
