Please be patient, they have a lot of detail. (Page 3 of 6)

The further we got into the journey the better the scenery got. The tracks were winding their way up the valley along the Fraser River.
The train was made up of 3 locos and 19 passenger cars.
The schedule for the first day is for the Rocky Mountaineer to go from Vancouver to Kamloops, which is 460 km of track.
The second day covers from Kamloops to Jasper, which is another 457 km on the rails.

All the train travel is done during daylight hours, so you can take in every bit of the journey.

The train motors along, but not at top speed - this way we all get a nice long trip. All the better for enjoying it all.
Once out of the city, we could go onto the viewing platform on each passenger car and check out the passing scenery without windows in the way.
We are now 5 hours out of Vancouver. About half way through our day's train ride.
